Bush Administration Waives Endangered Species Act

February 09, 2010 Subject: Dear Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff has waived 18 laws, including the Endangered Species Act, the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, and the Clean Water Act so the Bush administration can go ahead with its plans to build 700 miles of wall along the U.S. Mexico border. This will be a disaster for the landscape and fragile wildlife of the Southwest and will do nothing to control our borders. Please vote to eliminate funding for the border wall contained in the Homeland Security Appropriations bill and co-sponsor the Borderlands Security and Conservation Act (H.R. 2593).
