George Soros vs. the Planet

Billionaire financier (and generous Democratic Party funder) George Soros is funding the destruction of South American forests, and we need your help to convince him to stop. Soros has invested up to $1 billion in developing sugarcane ethanol in the Brazilian cerrado, a vast savanna that is being destroyed at the rate of seven million acres a year to fuel the growth in ethanol demand.

That destruction is threatening a unique landscape and endangered species like blue macaws, jaguars and giant armadillos. Most frustrating about Soros's involvement is that it doesn't make long-term financial sense: the dense vegetation of the cerrado could be worth far more left intact as a carbon sink that sucks up carbon dioxide and breathes out oxygen, helping cool the planet - a valuable resource for corporations and countries looking to offset their global warming pollution.

Email George Soros today and ask him to invest in only ecologically sustainable projects.
